Gold medal at the Annual Sustainability Rating by EcoVadis
Press Release
ACS has been awarded a gold medal by EcoVadis in this year's annual sustainability rating, which stemmed from the implementation of even more ESG policies, sustainability actions, and the acquisition of new certifications, such as ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety), ISO 39001 (Road Traffic Safety Management), and ISO 14064 (Greenhouse Gas Emissions Measurement Certification). This marks a significant upgrade compared to the corresponding evaluation in 2022, where ACS had received a bronze medal.
EcoVadis positively assessed ACS's policies and principles, ranking it in the top 5% of companies evaluated internationally by EcoVadis over the past 12 months, notably achieving high performance rates in the themes of "Environment" and "Ethics." This particular distinction is a result of ACS and the Quest Group's commitment to ESG strategy, based on the long-term Sustainable Development Goals they have set.
Mrs. Elia Charari, Marketing and Corporate Sustainability Manager of ACS, noted: "This year's recognition from EcoVadis rewards the significant progress made in implementing our ESG strategy. Our company's decisions and policies regarding the environment, sustainability, modern corporate governance, solidarity, individual rights, and the enhancement of our human resources are reflected in EcoVadis's measurements. This distinction belongs to all the people of ACS, to the Management, and of course to the employees of our nationwide store network, who strive to implement ACS's corporate responsibility policies - and we thank them for their choice."
The certification methodology covers seven management indicators, with 21 sustainability criteria, across four themes: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement. It is based on leading standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), and ISO 26000, and is overseen by an international scientific committee.
*EcoVadis is one of the largest and most reliable providers of sustainability assessments for businesses globally. Its aim is to help businesses move towards a more sustainable world by using data that can be leveraged in every business decision.
