Collection of first-aid items in the ACS stores network in collaboration with the NGO "Doctors of the World" for their humanitarian mission to Ukraine
In the context of ACS Corporate Social Responsibility strategy for responding to emergencies and supporting vulnerable social groups, the company invites citizens throughout Greece to gather in its branch network the essential items announced by the NGO "Doctors of the World", with the aim of sending them as humanitarian aid to Ukraine by the charity organization.
Specifically, "Doctors of the World", call for the collection of the following items (and only these):
Long lasting food
- Legumes, Rice, Pasta
- Baby food and baby milk
- Evaporated Milks
- Canned food
- Baby diapers and personal hygiene items.
Medical Supplies
- Sterile gauze and gloves
- Alcohol
- Saline
- Painkillers
- Baby syrups
- Antitussives
- Betadine
Important clarifications:
- The items that will be received by "Doctors of the World" will have at least six (6) months as an expiration date.
- The collection of the above items in the ACS stores starts on Saturday 05/03/22 and will be completed with a relevant announcement of the company.
- To be eligible for free delivery of items from the ACS branch network, the following conditions must be met:
- maximum number of parcels per consignor is five (5) parcels with a total weight of up to twenty (20) kg (for all parcels)
- items should be packed in sealed carton boxes and clearly marked "Doctors of the World - Ukraine".
The company asks the public for full compliance with the above conditions, so that the action of Doctors of the World can be implemented smoothly and with the best possible result, which will essentially help our fellow human beings in Ukraine.
ACS will continue to support such actions, in the framework of the Corporate Social Responsibility program implemented by the company in recent years and which focuses on 4 social pillars: emergency response / natural disaster and nationwide actions, nature protection, the strengthening of quality education and the promotion of our cultural heritage and the support of vulnerable social groups.
About the NGO "Doctors of the World"
Doctors of the World - Greece (GTK - Greece) was founded in 1990 and is a medical humanitarian NGO, member of the International Network of Doctors of the World, which consists of 17 delegations (Argentina, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland , Greece, United States of America, United Kingdom, Japan, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Canada, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden). Doctors of the World, having been active in the wider region of Ukraine since the 1990s and knowing the needs of the local community for support, calls for humanitarian aid to support the civilian population. It is worth mentioning that in the wider region of Eastern Ukraine and mainly in Mariupol live more than 120,000 people belonging to the Greek community of Ukraine.
